CN Rood is pleased to announce the official launch of the Meinberg microSyncXS, Meinberg's latest small-form-factor time server—minimum space, minimum cost, maximum performance, available now. The microSyncXS is Meinberg's latest addition to the microSync family of easy-to-configure, cost-effective synchronization solutions for any conceivable timing need—for broadcasting applications to the power industry, from data centers to transportation.

The microSyncXS features two PTP-capable network ports operable either in timeTransmitter (Master) or timeReceiver (Slave) mode, allowing it to operate as a high-accuracy grandmaster, boundary clock, or ordinary clock. With full support for practically every published PTP profile, the microSyncXS is particularly ideal as an ultra-compact PTP Grandmaster solution. It also serves as a powerful NTP server and programmable clock signal generator, capable of producing pulse-per-second, 10 MHz frequency, 48 kHz word clock, DCLS timecode, and more via three programmable pulse outputs.

Equipped with a full version of the powerful, synchronization-centric meinbergOS operating system, the microSyncXS offers up all of the security and flexibility that the microSync family is known for. These include the new features introduced in the latest meinbergOS versions, specifically LDAP, TACACS+, and RADIUS authentication, native PRP for NTP and PTP traffic, industry-specific network functionality such as IEC 61850 MMS support, detailed analysis features for GNSS reception and clock performance, and also a fully integrated version of Meinberg's PTP monitoring solution, PTP Track Hound.

The microSyncXS has been trimmed and smartened in all the right places to achieve its impressively competitive price, providing all the quality and performance where it truly counts, with the same industry-leading accuracy, performance, security features, and innovative reference signal management as Meinberg's established microSync solutions. This makes the microSyncXS ideal as an entry-level solution for smaller-scale applications in which cost, size, and simplicity are critical. All signal connections on the microSyncXS use standardized, readily available cables and connectors for ease of installation.

Larger operations too can benefit from the cost-effective redundancy or from the ease of mobility afforded by the microSyncXS—its low cost, industry-grade performance, and advanced network functionality make it ideal not only as a cost-effective self-contained solution for optimum redundancy but also for compact installation in mobile applications such as outside broadcasting vehicles, maintenance vehicles, and other mobile deployments. With the newly integrated PTP Track Hound in meinbergOS, the microsyncXS is also superbly suited to operation as a low-cost PTP watchdog station for highly accurate monitoring of your PTP infrastructure.
