Reliable and quickly accessible field instrumentation is becoming increasingly important in today's process industry. Field instrumentation and the associated data enable valuable support in areas such as process visualizations and maintenance-oriented valve diagnosis. Precisely for these reasons, SAMSON, together with many other industry partners, has adopted the so-called Ethernet-APL concept.
Fast two-wire connection
APL enables a fast 10 Mbit/sec intrinsically safe two-wire connection to field instrumentation up to 1000 meters away. For comparison: The well-known Hart protocol only has a speed of 1.2 Kbit/sec.
TROVIS 3797: Our valve positioner with APL support
This positioner model is based on the high-end Series 379X positioner platform. Optional modules can be added to the positioners, such as higher air capacity for both single and double acting actuators. The addition of optional pressure sensors enhances the features of the fully integrated valve diagnostics to ensure safe and reliable operation.
