The SAMSON control valve type 3291 is specially developed for heavy process conditions in the oil and gas industry. This valve is designed for applications up to pressure class ANSI 900 and is particularly suitable for applications where effects such as erosion, wear, corrosion, cavitation and flashing play a role.

Construction
The construction is based on the successful design of the SAMSON control valve series 240/250 with one important difference: Instead of screwed-in seats, in this valve the seat is held in place by a cage construction.

V-port plug
Unlike typical cage guided control valves, this valve utilizes a top and bottom seat guide by means of a V-port plug. This minimizes friction and allows the passage of small particles without the valve becoming clogged or “pinched” between the piston and cage.

Longer lifespan
The seat of the 3291 can be installed and removed very quickly without the need for special tools. In addition, the valve is highly resistant to dirt deposits. This extends the usability of the valve and ensures lower maintenance costs.

Advantages
• No special tools required for mounting the internals
• Minimal wear on seat and plug
• Maintenance-friendly valve design
• Good resistance to contaminated media
