Newave Sensor Solutions, for which Elincom provides European distribution, has created an innovative UHF antenna design that can achieve exceptional reading results. The construction of the antenna structure sends a homogeneous RF signal.
Compared to standard patch antennas, the Newave Wave Antenna has an elongated reading field. The antennas are available in a housing and as foil, the foil can easily be installed under carpeting or almost invisibly behind wall coverings such as wallpaper.
Both versions are available in heights of 100cm, 167cm and 220cm, which can be used, for example, to create a portal with a reading range from floor to ceiling. The antennas have a gain of 3, 4.5 and 5.5 dBi and an impedance of 50 ohms.
By placing two antennas next to each other with a 1.2 wavelength difference, a fully covering RF signal can be achieved. This results in an antenna that does not miss an RFID tag in its target zone, but does not read tags outside the zone.
