The FieldPort SWA50 from Endress+Hauser can upgrade HART instruments to wireless communication, making them ready for IIoT applications.
The HART instruments in your factory are no longer tied to sending information via cable. Endress+Hauser has introduced a small but powerful adapter that can be retrofitted to a HART instrument – the FieldPort SWA50.
The FieldPort SWA50 adds wireless communication to an existing HART instrument based on Bluetooth and/or WirelessHART communication independent of the HART instrument supplier. This creates a so-called '2nd channel' to access data from the field instrument and optionally transfer this information to a cloud-based ecosystem, with which it can be used for IIoT applications.
The FieldPort SWA50 converts the HART signal from the connected HART instrument into a reliable and encrypted Bluetooth and/or WirelessHART signal. The Endress+Hauser SmartBlue app or the Endress+Hauser industrial tablet Field Xpert can be used to configure the FieldPort SWA50. Remote configuration via a DeviceDTM in a WirelessHART network is also possible.
Edge devices are available for automatically recording HART instruments in the Endress+Hauser Netilion IIoT ecosystem; FieldEdge SGC200 or FieldEdge SGC500. An IIoT connection based on an Edge device gives you digital access to the connected HART instruments. Using a smartphone, tablet or desktop PC, you can view measurement data, instrument diagnostics and life cycle data. It is even possible to forward the data to your own systems or cloud application by using a standardized API. The FieldPort SWA50 opens up new possibilities for digitalization – a powerful adapter that can be retrofitted to a HART instrument.
