Minimum effort, maximum efficiency – Many foodstuffs and pharmaceutical products have a unique texture: “Meltable”, such as some spreadable cheeses, grainy, such as peeling creams, but also tough, sticky, crunchy or soft. Depending on the consistency, the demands placed on the level measurement technology used in production also increase.
VEGA has developed the new, flat limit value switch VEGAPOINT 24 especially for use with very sticky, tough or abrasive media. The focus in this development was on robustness. Even with the strongest deposits, the switch safely and reliably detects the coating status and makes this very clearly visible with a coloured light ring.

Plug & play
Despite its robustness, VEGAPOINT 24 remains a true plug-and-play sensor. This limit value switch can be installed very easily in just a few steps. Flexible production lines with frequent and fast product changes can particularly benefit from the fact that VEGAPOINT 24 recognizes all media using the factory settings without adjustment. In addition, it is an additional advantage that extensive functions, such as interface detection or foam blocking, can be configured very easily.

Piggable
“With this device, we are specifically targeting the Food & Beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Efficiency and safety are key when mixing and transporting, even with demanding liquids and materials such as molasses or hazelnut-chocolate spread,” explains Volker Allgaier, Product Manager at VEGA. The flat design of the VEGAPOINT 24 in particular ensures universal application options. “Even mops work smoothly along the flat probe,” emphasizes Volker Allgaier, “and sandblasting is also no problem for the probe. Because the tank only contains metal.” According to him, extensive tests have shown a service life that is up to four times longer than plastic.

Always fits
Users give their processes optimum transparency with the new VEGAPOINT 24. In addition, the relationship between sustainability and low life cycle costs is a groundbreaking factor. However, the decisive factor is the flexibility in use. With its versatile process connections and adapters, the limit value switch fits like a glove – even in existing systems.
