Source: Rijksoverheid.nl Minister Arie Slob (education) has set up a National Coordination Team for Ventilation in Schools (LCVS) in connection with the spread of the coronavirus. Doekle Terpstra (Techniek Nederland) is chairman of the LCVS. In addition, the Primary Care Council, Secondary Education Council, GGD-GHOR and VNG are also part of the coordination team. The RIVM currently emphasizes that it is unclear whether aerogenous spread plays a relevant role in the spread of the virus, that ventilation systems do not appear to have played a role in the epidemic and that there is no reason to adjust the current policy. The LCVS is set up to obtain a national picture of ventilation in schools by October 1st and to support schools and bundle expertise. The advice to schools is - if this has not already been done - to check their ventilation for the applicable requirements. The LCVS sent the announcement of the request for ventilation in primary and secondary schools to school boards on September 3. School boards are approached for this via the Primary Education Council and the Secondary Education Council. To prevent schools from being asked about ventilation from different sides, the LCVS does not see an active role from municipalities in this question. The LCVS follows the RIVM: school construction must comply with the Building Decree and additional guidelines. An alternative way is also provided to determine whether school buildings comply with this requirement. A discussion guide/questionnaire can therefore be downloaded for school boards at www.weeropschool.nl. Also see:
