VNO-NCW: climate lawsuits harm Dutch businesses
FHI, Federation of Technology Industries – February 14, 2022
- The RIVM reported 55,116 new positive corona tests on Monday. On Sunday there were 60,129.
- The increasing number of climate lawsuits has made companies wary of investing in CO2 and nitrogen reductions, says VNO-NCW in the FD. Moreover, the government is said to be failing to exercise sufficient control over climate policy.
- A number of provinces have stopped issuing building permits. The controversial trade in nitrogen space is cited as the reason, which can damage nature, writes NRC.
- Business confidence fell at the beginning of this year, reports CBS. Last year, confidence rose for three quarters in a row. The most important reason for the fluctuating figure is the corona measures of the past period.
- In January, 2.5 million passengers traveled from, to or via SchipholThat is more than last year (0.9 million), but it is still half the number in January before the corona crisis broke out.
