…and luckily there are Private LTE and 5G networks!
This month I was inspired again at the Zorg & ICT fair in the Jaarbeursgebouw in Utrecht. More than 200 exhibitors presented new and existing solutions to take healthcare a step further. No matter what domain you work in.
Digitalization is a necessity for healthcare
Whether it concerns reducing workload, wandering detection, smart lighting, medication use, self-reliance, alarms, healthcare communication, IoT, working in the cloud, robotization, it was all there.
Dr. Helen Mertens from Maastricht UMC+ spoke as a speaker about digital innovation to transform. “Smart, digital care offers unprecedented possibilities. Social developments, technological possibilities, tightness on the labor market and the ever-increasing costs of care make digitalization not just a wish, but a necessity”. And that hits the nail on the head.
A good foundation is crucial
But to be able to realize that, the foundation must be good. And I recognize one of the components of this foundation: connectivity. No matter how beautiful your solutions and applications are, when an alarm does not arrive due to a malfunction or lack of connectivity or a client has become untraceable, then everything collapses like a house of cards. There goes your beautiful application.
Unfortunately, it is not yet common practice for organizations to start with the basic foundation for business or mission critical communication in a future fixed carrier. This so that it can grow with the organization and its developments.
Connectivity anytime, anywhere with Private LTE and 5G
If you assume that in 2023 there will be standard connectivity always and everywhere, in whatever form, then you will be really disappointed. Think for example of the large-scale telephone failure in April this year, which meant that 112 and hospitals were difficult or even impossible to reach by telephone.
With Private LTE and 5G networks you are guaranteed connectivity anytime, anywhere. Our strategic Private LTE partners can advise you independently about that connectivity layer. And of course you can also contact me directly contact us.
Advancing and relieving the burden on healthcare
All in all, the fair has brought me a lot. It is good to see how hard people are working on solutions to help healthcare move forward and relieve it. This frees up more time for attention to the client or patient.
It was also fun and informative to catch up with our partners, manufacturers and colleagues in the industry. In short, a recommendation for the next edition. I will definitely take a look again!
