Working groups
PLOT has three working groups that meet several times a year.
Mechanical tests
The mechanical testing working group promotes knowledge exchange about simulation of the mechanical environment. The influence of mechanical loads on a component, sub-assembly or composite system is investigated by exposing the product to a mechanical load (vibration, shock, impact) under controlled conditions. The working group exchanges knowledge about test methods, results and protocols and initiates the development of mechanical test technology.
Reliability
The aim of the reliability working group is to promote knowledge exchange about testing intended to make statements about the reliability of products. The working group initially focuses on making environmental tests even more representative of practical conditions.
climate
Natural climate conditions such as sunlight, rain, sand, wind, seawater, air pollution and lightning can lead to chemical, physical and/or biological interactions on materials, components and (sub)systems. The Climate Working Group aims to promote the exchange of knowledge regarding related failure methods, tests, standards and analysis methods.
