Industrial Automation (IA) for Rijkswaterstaat is the application of technology to partially or fully automate the operation of physical assets. In short, all digital aspects that enable the functioning of a movable object. It ensures the flow of the Netherlands (operating objects), it protects our country against flooding (controlling the barriers), and ensures that we can optimally use our area (measuring use and maintenance status). Without qualitative IA, the safety and availability of our assets is not possible. With standardization and simplification of the IA, we contribute to the acceleration and simplification of the renewal task and a reliable exploitation phase. In this, we work closely with the market, focused on scalability of solutions and innovation. We use open standards, develop the eco-system for RWS to share knowledge and expertise and stimulate innovation and craftsmanship. We bundle work and simplify the agreements.
