Maarten Busschers (MBU, Lead Control Systems Engineer, Zeton
Twan Csonka Senior Control systems engineer, Zeton
We'll begin with a brief introduction to Zeton. Who we are and what we do. In our presentation, we'll walk the audience through a recent project.
At the start of the engineering phase of this project, we considered whether to implement it using IO-Link. We will explain our considerations, the alternatives, and why we ultimately decided to use IO-Link. We will then proceed through the project chronologically, critically examining the advantages and disadvantages of using IO-Link in each phase. We will also compare it to a more traditional implementation method.
Since we cover the entire process from engineering to delivery to the customer, the presentation provides a very practical approach.
The project phases we go through at Zeton and involve the public in are as follows:
- Engineering
- Manufacturing
- Testing
- Disassembly, transport & reassembly
- SAT
We conclude by briefly answering the following questions:
- How did you experience using IO-Link?
- How did the expected benefits materialize?
- Is this repeatable?
