Since time immemorial, there has been a fascination for the healthy body, the sick body and, in connection with this, death. Many visitors will behold the beauty of what lies beneath the skin with great wonder and admiration during a visit to the museum.
The Museum of Anatomy and Pathology of the Radboudumc in Nijmegen was founded by the first professor of anatomy, Professor Dr. HJ Lammers, and his right-hand man J. Fellinger in 1967. The earliest preparations date from the early 1950s. The museum is the most recent anatomical museum and is unique in that it actively expands its collections. The museum is seen as one of the pearls of the Radboud campus due to its beautiful collections, artistic and refined preparation techniques and aesthetically and didactically designed displays.
There are three different collections: anatomy, pathology and teratology.
These collections consist almost entirely of human specimens that have been processed with the utmost care and prepared for permanent exhibition.
