Training Manager and Practical Lecturer in Laboratory Technology

What are you going to do

• As a training manager for laboratory techniques (0.4 fte), you are the link between the laboratory sector and our training offer. You are the face of the lab training courses and promote both existing and new training courses and courses. You provide information and conduct advisory meetings with lateral entrants, professionals and organisations, together with other lab training managers. You contribute to the marketing of training courses at MBO and HBO level, in close cooperation with marketers. This can include websites, brochures, social media, events and more.
• You will enter into discussions with the market, where you speak the language thanks to your experience in the lab world. You will listen carefully. You will not translate the customer's question alone. 
• You translate the customer demand into a program of requirements and manage the process to translate, in collaboration with educationalists and experts, into current and relevant training courses that help the sector move forward. In doing so, you connect the best experts from the market as teachers to training courses. After all, we only want the best for our participants. 
• You will also work together with your fellow training coordinator, who will organise the implementation of the training in an excellent way. We do this because we at Avans+ attach great importance to participants not only having a pleasant and educational time but also actually gaining the knowledge and insights that will help them further in their professional development and the laboratory sector. 
• In your role as a lecturer (0.2 fte) you will give practical lessons in chromatography (HPLC and possibly GC) and inspire participants with your experience and vision of the sector. Last but not least, you are responsible for lab management (0.2 fte) where you work together with manufacturers and suppliers to make the laboratory function optimally for our courses. 
• Due to the retirement of a colleague, we are looking for a new colleague to strengthen our team as of September 2025. Activities as a teacher and lab manager are at Avans+ in Breda. Your work as a training manager is sometimes at the client, at the office at Avans+ and working from home is also a possibility.

This is you and what you bring

• HBO working and thinking level, preferably in the direction of laboratory techniques. 
• Experience in the laboratory sector 
• Curiosity and enthusiasm to be the spider in the web we are looking for. 
• Strong communication skills, able to inspire both teachers and clients. 
• Network is a plus.
• Experience as a teacher is an advantage. 
• Knowledge of chromatography (HPLC and/or GC) is an advantage. 
• An affinity with lab management is an advantage.

Working conditions

• Monthly salary: maximum €4,900 gross per month based on 38 hours (depending on education and work experience) 
• Secondary conditions: including 29 vacation days, a 13th month and/or profit sharing depending on performance and results, a personal training budget
• Employment contract: fixed term of 1 year with the prospect of extension
• Hours per week: 32 hours per week
