Senior Embedded Software Engineer


The embedded software you develop at DIS Sensors controls our sensors, which are used worldwide, from industrial vehicles and cranes to locks and elevators. Technology that senses, measures, and responds immediately when needed. With us, you'll work in an organization with short lines of communication and direct communication. You'll have the opportunity to take responsibility for firmware architecture, advanced mathematical algorithms, machine learning, and configuration management. With our own R&D test lab and in-house SMD production and assembly, you can practically test and validate the developed firmware.
Function
As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you'll be part of our multidisciplinary R&D team, collaborating with hardware and software engineers, test engineers, an architect, and a prototype builder. Together, we develop sensors and the underlying development platform that enables production, configuration, and data exchange. In this role, you'll be working at the core of our electronics-driven product development. You'll design software architectures, optimize performance, and elevate the codebase. You'll see the results of your work not only in high-quality sensors but also in the daily operations of our international customers.
What are you going to do?
- Developing efficient, maintainable embedded software in C and C++.
- Optimizing performance and modularity of the firmware
- Design and implement software according to the V-model, in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 13849 standards.
- Analyzing and implementing the latest developments in MEMS and MCUs
- Developing software architectures and monitoring code quality.
- Integrating, testing, validating and documenting software.
- Coaching and inspiring fellow software engineers within the team.

What we ask
- Completed higher professional or university degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Technical Computer Science, Applied Physics or similar.
- Good command of Dutch and English.
- Affinity with technology (e.g. electronics, product development, sensor technology).
- Extensive experience required with C and C++, among others.
- At least 5 years of experience in software development and preferably also experience in an architectural role.
- Excellent communication skills and a hands-on mentality.
