Are you a driven third- or fourth-year university of applied sciences student studying marketing, commercial economics, business administration, or communication? And are you interested in researching how high-tech EMS companies position themselves in a competitive international market? Then we have a challenging assignment for you!
The function
Your main question: Who are our competitors and how are they operating within the European EMS market, specifically within the market segments in which VDL TBP Electronics operates? You will investigate, among other things:
- How competing EMS companies position themselves in the above-mentioned market segments;
- Which USPs they communicate and how they relate to ours;
- Which trade fairs they visit and what visibility they create there;
- Their online presence: social media channels, content strategy, reach;
- How they approach prospects and which (commercial) tools they use;
- Market trends by segment (growth, shifts, opportunities), in line with questions from our sales and marketing departments about competitors by market segment.
The results you report will help us further optimize our marketing and sales policies.
Your duties include:
- Conduct a thorough market research on competitors in the EMS market;
- Collecting data through desk research, benchmark information, trade fairs, social media, websites and interviews;
- Conduct analysis per market segment with concrete recommendations for our marketing strategy;
- Deliver final report and presentation to the sales & marketing team;
- Contribute to further deepening segment knowledge within the organization, as previously discussed in consultation with our sales and marketing colleagues.
Your strength
- You are following a higher professional education course in marketing, commercial economics or similar
- You have an affinity with high-tech, innovation and market analyses
- You can work independently, but you can easily switch between different departments
- You are analytically strong and dare to formulate recommendations
