Electrification demands something from you (as a company)

Electrification is also affecting climate control technology. Traditional HVAC businesses are increasingly dealing with electrical components: plugs, power supplies, and appliances whose internal components can be electrically hazardous. This requires more than just craftsmanship. It requires sound safety management. ⚡🔌

Every employer knows that compliance with the Dutch Working Conditions Act (Arbowet) is mandatory. VCA (Health, Safety and Environment Checklist Contractors), working at heights, and general safety measures are often well-regulated. But as soon as employees work on or with electrical equipment and installations, additional laws and regulations apply. And these are precisely the regulations that are often underestimated in practice within the climate control industry.

What should you have properly arranged as an employer?
When your employees work with electrical installations, the law expects you to record the following, among other things:

  • Formal designation of personnel (who is allowed to do what) – also when hiring self-employed persons
  • Training and periodically instructing employees
  • Recording of responsibilities when issuing and accepting orders
  • Working according to established work procedures
  • Periodic inspection of work equipment and electrical hand tools
  • Post-delivery inspection

Sounds complicated? It isn't. Provided you know what's needed and how to organize it effectively.

Have you not (yet) arranged this properly?
Then come to one of the five short lectures that ROVC in collaboration with FHI building automation during VSK 2026 provides. You'll receive practical tools and a clear answer to the question: How can I ensure safety around electrical installations quickly and efficiently?
