Digitalization within the beer brewing process

Beer consists of four ingredients: water, malt, hops and yeast. The brewing process starts with grain grains and the result is a golden-colored refreshing alcoholic drink! How is beer brewed and what determines the carbonic acidity, taste or fullness? Every step of the beer brewing process contributes to the unique properties and character of this delicious drink. Using a brewery setup, JUMO shows what is needed to brew a beer.

JUMO demonstrates modern technology that is applied in the brewing process to digitize temperature, pressure, flow, level and conductivity sensors, automate the brewing process and visualize the data via MQTT in the CLOUD.

Speaker: Dirk Kop, JUMO

From sensor data to smart data

In this session, Wiek Wijnands from Weidmüller partner Kensan will show you how you can add the full breadth of Predictive Maintenance to Asset Management with Industrial Analytics & Machine Learning. Machine learning makes it possible to detect 'anomalies' more precisely and earlier, even without prior problem definition. This also reveals unknown (environmental) factors that influence process or product quality. Often a lot is already possible with existing data! Kensan is a specialist in the field of Asset Management and Smart Industry and has developed the Asset Health Monitor based on Weidmüller AutoML. The intuitive dashboard of this Asset Health Monitor provides real-time insight into the condition (Health) of assets, but also their 'Mana' and 'Stamina'. Indispensable 'smart data' as a foundation for innovation and Operational Excellence!

Manipulation quickly discovered with Smart-safety, Algorithms and AI

Smart safety switches provide a laundry list of data. It depends on how you combine and interpret them. For example, you can use it to detect manipulation, predict maintenance interventions and more. Bypassing security measures can become a thing of the past.

Some striking examples will be discussed during this presentation. There is a demo setup on the exhibition floor where you can log in with your mobile phone and try to discover manipulation yourself.

Speaker: Vladimir Dragosavic, EUCHNER

The latest developments towards a smart and autonomous plant

From Industrial Automation to Industrial Autonomy, that is Yokogawa's IA2IA vision. With this vision, we are currently making great strides with cloud solutions and the robotics platform. In concrete examples, Bart Jan Homan from Yokogawa explains how you can realize smarter, more autonomous and more efficient production processes.

Beer brewing 2.0: discover it at the WoTS

Beer consists of four ingredients: water, malt, hops and yeast. We have known the art of brewing beer from these four basic ingredients for centuries. Nothing has changed in the chemical process, but we have made it easier thanks to technology. Until not so long ago, every step had to be prepared manually. Breweries worked more on feeling than on the basis of concrete measurement data.
