Wednesday September 25, 10:00 – 12:00

Location: Feringa Seminar Room in World of Industry (hall 11)

Thanks to the silent disco principle, you will experience the drive technology seminar in the middle of the exhibition floor. Bosch Rexroth, Elsto Drives & Controls, Bakker & Co and Motor Driven Systems will give four presentations afterwards. The technical experts are ready for you and will take you into the depths. From practical implementations to electrification and the latest developments in drive technology. We will conclude the seminar with a lecture on condition monitoring (energy and vibration) of drives.

Drive technology & sustainability, innovations and practical implementations

Technical, environmental burden and economic feasibility create ethical dilemmas. When we talk about sustainability, we should always think from the application. The speed, torque and/or power, together with the service factor, already provide a direction. Then the number of starts/stops, the dynamics, environments and work area determine which side your solution should be sought. It provides direction in your selection of the solutions to be chosen. The return on investment of the chosen solution is soon compared to your customer's cost of ownership and profit.

I will talk about these dilemmas and much more during the presentation.

Speaker: Eric Peeters, Bakker & Co

Electrification of fossil fuel powered machines

The government is increasingly imposing sustainability requirements on the business community. Electrification is one of the options for working without emissions. Elsto Drives & Controls electrifies machines and offers solutions for the agricultural sector, logistics and construction & infrastructure, among others, that lead to fewer emissions. Other advantages are more efficient and flexible working, better returns and less noise pollution.

Maximize design freedom with innovative drive technology

Large and complex control cabinets significantly limit the freedom in your modular machine design. Moving the control cabinet in a machine layout means that the cables to drives in the machine must be changed. This hinders flexibility, modular construction and layout changes of the production floor.

New developments in drive technology offer solutions for more compact control cabinets and fewer cables, achieving maximum design freedom and adaptability without loss of performance. Would you like to know more about this development and what positive effects it has for your production process?

Learning together about energy saving on drives.

I will take you into the world of energy saving on motor-driven systems.

Energy prices, legislation and climate change are themes that mean we now have to start working on energy saving. Water boards experienced this first-hand last winter. When we talk about energy saving on motor-driven systems, we often talk about adjustments to the system itself. We show that you have to look much broader to come up with smart and effective solutions. From AI to different engine control to government policy choices, you can start saving energy in many areas. Within the Learning community, we will work together with companies, trainers, water boards and municipalities to learn together what smart ways there are to realize energy saving. Together we will make a start to save 20 to 30% energy on motor-driven systems.
