Healthcare is under pressure due to staff shortages, rising demand, and increasing complexity. Medical technology is essential for keeping healthcare accessible and affordable, and for contributing to a strong Dutch economy. The MedTech Growth Plan outlines the ambition to position the Netherlands as a globally leading MedTech ecosystem by 2035, in which healthcare, industry, startups, and government collaborate on scalable innovation.
Léon Kempeneers explains how we can move towards this goal. This includes developing smart technology, but also, and especially, bringing together parties such as government, businesses, healthcare institutions, insurers, and knowledge partners around shared goals. He outlines how new care models, data, and AI only have an impact when innovation is scaled up and truly implemented in healthcare practice. And, importantly, what are the biggest challenges on the way to achieving this ambition?
Speaker: Léon Kempeneers, Managing Director Philips Benelux
