There is growing worldwide interest in resource recovery in the water cycle. The transformation of residuals into valuable products is an important element in the transition from a linear to a circular economy. KWR Watercycle Research Institute researches how technology, society and government can address the challenges of resource reuse. A sustainable and cost-effective use of residual streams and an integrated approach are central.

Kees Roest from KWR will present the latest results of projects that show innovative possibilities for water reuse, energy and nutrient recovery from (waste)water with application potential in municipal and industrial water treatment sooner or later.
