Digitization and artificial intelligence are rapidly changing the way buildings are controlled, managed, and made sustainable. For the Building Automation sector, this is no longer a future scenario, but a development that is already impacting projects and systems. During this members' meeting, held prior to the FHI General Assembly, we will reflect on what this means concretely for our industry.

We start at the core: AI is seen as a major accelerator, but its capabilities stand or fall with the quality of the underlying data. Data silos and the lack of uniform labeling standards currently pose real obstacles. We discuss why data quality and ownership are prerequisites for successful AI applications, and what steps the industry can take towards standardization.

Cybersecurity is also receiving attention, a subject that is taking on a different character due to AI: threats are shifting from large-scale to targeted at OT systems. What does this mean for how we secure building systems?

To translate theory into practice, speakers share concrete examples, such as the smart resolution of grid congestion and applications within smart buildings. These are case studies that demonstrate how these themes translate into tangible results.

Finally, a look ahead: what does this mean for the “day after tomorrow” of our industry?
