Baseclear NGS Library prep automation with the Tecan Dreamprep NGS 780

Baseclear is a CRO sequencing company. For Next Generation Sequecing (NGS), we use the Illumina and ONT platforms. Library preparation is a major and crucial step within NGS, as this is where the samples are prepared and barcoded. Given the sensitivity of sequencing instruments, it's crucial that this process is performed as cleanly as possible and that no sample mix-ups occur. Since we process many samples simultaneously for our clients, there's not only the manual burden but also a significant risk of contamination. Therefore, we've automated this process. We've currently automated the process for two library prep kits. We're seeing significant improvements, particularly in throughput and quality. For example, for one FTE, throughput has increased from one plate per day to three plates per day.
