Selective wave soldering is a specialized form of wave soldering used for soldering through-hole printed circuit boards. Selective wave soldering generally consists of three modules: flux spraying, preheating, and soldering. The flux nozzle moves to the command position according to the pre-programmed program and selectively sprays the welding area. After the board is preheated by the upper and lower preheating modules, the welding module performs welding along the programmed path.

SUNFLOW FS/450 Selective Soldering Machine

Characteristics
- Equipped with spray, preheat and welding units that can complete the entire welding process in a small machine
- Rotary track design allows printed circuit boards to be loaded and unloaded on the same side of the machine
- Covers a small surface area, smaller than the standard SUNFLOW machine
- Real-time monitoring and recording of the welding process
Soldering process
- Send a PCB to the specified location
- Selective spraying, preheating and soldering of the printed circuit board according to the setting program
- PCB is being disposed of
Basic machine module
- Flux module
- Preheating module
- Soldering module
- Transport system
Work process
After moving the printed circuit board to the flux area, the nozzle is directed to the programmed position, and the flux is applied only to the solder joint to be made. After preheating, the electromagnetic pump moves to the target area, and the solder joint is made.
Fast and convenient programming
- There are several programming options available
- Different parameters for each soldering point
- Offline programming
- Process data recording
Smooth transport system
The transport system combines chain and roller transport. A chain transport system was chosen for the flux and preheating modules. The soldering module uses the roller transport system, which performs well in terms of placement and repeatability.
Highly precise spray system
The standard machine uses a precision droplet nozzle with a diameter of 130 μm, which can spray the flux evenly over the required solder area. The minimum spray area is 3 mm, saving at least 90% flux compared to conventional spraying techniques.
Perfect preheating system
Combine a stop heater and a bottom heater, and the system still performs perfectly, even for lead-free soldering or multi-layer PCBs. The top convection heater has proven itself for many years in the Sun East Reflow machine and ensures an even temperature distribution across the entire PCB. The bottom IR radiator offers an optional heating area depending on the custom PCB. At the same time, another top heater covers the soldering module and can maintain the PCB temperature throughout the entire cycle time.
