The increasing digitalization of machines and production lines places ever higher demands on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). As more sensors, frequency converters, communication systems, and controllers are used, the risks of electromagnetic interference (EMI) also increase. These disturbances can lead to unwanted system responses, communication errors, measurement deviations, and even production downtime.
During this knowledge session, the following will be discussed:
• The basic principles of EMC and EMI
• Common causes of malfunctions in machines and installations
• The influence of frequency converters, cabling, shielding, and grounding on the reliability of systems
• Practical measures to prevent and resolve EMC problems
• Applications within machine building, automation, and industrial production environments, among others
Using practical examples, insight is provided into how an EMC-compatible installation contributes to a safe, reliable, and future-proof machine.
