Objectives of the presentation:
The process industries are facing an increasing need for secure, semantically rich data from every layer of the operational technology (OT) architecture. This session provides an overview of how companies are addressing this challenge with Ethernet-APL and highlights the benefits it delivers to both business decision-makers and technical professionals.
Attendees will gain insights into the commercial and technical use cases enabled by Ethernet-APL, as well as the technologies that complement Ethernet-APL to form a comprehensive technology portfolio and smart plant architecture. The session will also introduce the PROFINET over APL solution portfolio and its role in modern process automation.
The speaker will share real-world examples of Ethernet-APL deployments, including a large greenfield project in the chemical industry, and present quantified business and operational benefits achieved through its implementation.
In addition, attendees will learn about the current APL devices situation as well as upcoming innovations planned for the Ethernet-APL standard.
