How do you make the step from an existing distillation plant to a future-proof, fully digital environment — and realize immediately measurable gains in engineering and commissioning?
During this lecture, we will take you through the practical aspects of a successful migration project. A distillation plant was modernized from Siemens Teleperm M to Siemens PCS 7, in which all conventional analog measuring sensors and valve positioners were replaced by digital instrumentation using PROFINET over Ethernet-APL.
Thanks to the deployment of PROFINET over Ethernet-APL, in combination with smart software tools and solutions, Cargill has realized significant time savings, both during the engineering phase and commissioning.
About the speaker:
Robin Deelen works as a Project Automation Engineer at Cargill in Gouda. He derives energy from complex technical challenges within E&I and automation, such as converting and improving factories and installations, where nothing must be overlooked and the current technical state always forms the starting point.
With a strong focus on optimization and sustainability, Robin continuously seeks ways to make processes smarter, more efficient, and future-proof. He is also technically minded outside of work; his interest in sustainability and his BMW align well with this.
His goal is always to get the maximum out of a project. And if that is not yet possible today, he at least ensures that the maximum becomes easily achievable tomorrow.
