Open source OT monitoring sounds appealing: quick insights, low costs, and full control. But does it really deliver value in practice? Or does it end up as yet another tool that takes a lot of time, proves complex, and eventually ends up in the trash?

In this session, OTconnect shows how organizations can take a pragmatic first step with open-source OT monitoring within 30 days. This is not a marketing pitch, but an honest look at what you can and cannot expect. How much insight do you actually gain into assets, communication, and anomalous behavior? What works immediately, where is the challenge, and how much management does it really require?

Based on practical experience from real OT environments, you will discover whether open source monitoring is a feasible basis for OT cybersecurity, or actually adds extra complexity without sufficient return.
