Specific advantages of using a Novec or Inergas extinguishing system in laboratories:

A laboratory is a dynamic environment in which margins for error are small. Despite the expertise of the staff present, an accident can occur and can have disastrous consequences. Due to the use of open fire, other heat sources and reactions that create heat, there is also a risk of fire. Extinguishing with water can contribute to the fire because some substances do not mix with water and the fire spreads as a result. Classified laboratories, such as GMO laboratories (except ML-I), may not be extinguished with water because the water can be contaminated with the substances present. A gas extinguishing system can provide the solution for this.
ANSUL Solutions recommends an automatic extinguishing system based on Novec1230 or Inergas in a laboratory. Both systems are safe for any persons present. In addition, both Novec1230 and Inergas extinguish without any residue and are therefore not harmful to products and equipment. This is in contrast to other extinguishing agents and extinguishing systems with powder, aerosol, water mist or sprinkler.
