Working in a laboratory requires accuracy, a keen eye for safety, and mastery of the right basic techniques. Whether you have just started in a laboratory environment, have progressed from another role, or want to give your practical skills a solid theoretical and practical foundation: the training Basic Skills for Laboratory Technicians at Habeo+ is designed to provide you with optimal support in this.

In a professional laboratory, everything revolves around reliable results. A small deviation in a measurement or an incorrect action during sample preparation can have major consequences for the quality of the analyses.
During this post-MBO course, you will learn step-by-step the most important techniques and working methods that are indispensable in daily practice. Even if you do not have a specific laboratory background, the clear and concise explanations will help you translate the theory directly into practical action.
What are you going to learn?
The program is strongly practice-oriented. Under the guidance of experienced and expert instructors, you will get to work on essential laboratory tasks and learn to work according to applicable quality and safety standards.
During the 9 meetings, we will cover the following topics, among others:
- Practical Rules & Safety: The correct handling of safety regulations, personal protective equipment, and lab protocols.
- Weighing & Titer Setting: Accurate weighing and precise determination of concentrations.
- Use of the spectrophotometer: Practical application of optical analysis techniques.
- Dry matter determination & pH measurements: Performing standard analysis procedures and reliably reading and interpreting values.
What does the process look like?
Duration: 3 months (9 afternoon meetings on Thursdays from 13:00 to 17:00)
Locations: Breda & Delft
Study load: In addition to contact hours, expect approximately 6 hours of self-study per week to prepare for the theory.
Thanks to this structure, the program combines perfectly with working practice. We briefly discuss the prepared theory at the beginning of each lesson, after which the emphasis quickly shifts to hands-on exercises in practice.
