Endress+Hauser nominated for High Tech Trophy with new 180 GHz radar level meter
Endress+Hauser has been nominated for the High Tech Trophy 2026 with the Micropilot FMR43. The compact radar level meter uses 180 GHz technology and was developed for accurate level measurements in installations where limited installation space and complex process conditions pose a challenge. The innovation will be on display on the exhibition floor at WoTS.
Reliable measurement in confined installation space
Machines, skids, and process installations are becoming increasingly compact, while demands for availability, hygiene, and productivity continue to rise. Particularly in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries, this is driving a growing need for measuring instrumentation that continues to function reliably even under challenging conditions.
The Micropilot FMR43 addresses this with a radar frequency of 180 GHz. Thanks to the very narrow measurement beam and high resolution, the instrument can accurately measure in small tanks and installations, even when pipes, agitators, or other internal structures are present.
More flexibility for complex measurement points
Where traditional radar solutions are sometimes limited by space constraints or complex installation situations, 180 GHz technology offers greater flexibility. The very narrow beam of six degrees makes it easier to measure along internal structures without them interfering with the measurement. Reliable measurement remains possible even during turbulence, mixing processes, and rapidly changing levels.
This makes radar deployable at measurement points where this was previously difficult, for example in compact process tanks, CIP processes, and skids where various components are placed close together.
Compact Line for hygienic processes
The Micropilot FMR43 is part of the Compact Line from Endress+Hauser. This product line has been developed for applications where limited installation space is combined with high demands on measurement accuracy, hygiene, and easy integration.
In addition to the Micropilot FMR43, the Compact Line also includes the Liquiphant FTL43 level switch and the Cerabar PMP43 for pressure and hydrostatic level measurements. Together, they form a compact instrumentation portfolio for machine builders and end users striving for standardization, simple engineering, and efficient maintenance.
Nominated innovation on the exhibition floor
With the nomination for the High Tech Trophy, the Micropilot FMR43 is among the selected innovations to be presented at WoTS 2026. Visitors can view the innovation up close and cast their vote for their favorite innovation on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
