Fristam; the standard for hygienic centrifugal pumps and pharmaceutical applications
The Fristam FP centrifugal pump is the industry standard for hygienic processing processes.
Experience a new level of hygienic pumping with Fristam FP pumps! Our innovative open impeller design, combined with precisely dimensioned, narrow clearances and a flow-optimized pump housing, offers:
Unrivaled sustainability:
The FP is manufactured from robust stainless steel (cast and forged) and can withstand the harshest conditions, including vacuum applications, high temperatures, and abrasive products.
Longer lifespan of the seal:
Our unique internal seal design utilizes cooling and lubrication by the product itself, ensuring an exceptional service life.
Maximum efficiency:
Small internal clearances (up to 0.35 mm) ensure high efficiency and product-friendly handling.
Optimized performance:
The optimized impeller blade angle minimizes NPSH requirements and maximizes efficiency.
The unique design with a fully open, hygienic impeller, combined with high efficiency and extremely low NPSH values, guarantees optimal performance.
Smooth and quiet operation:
Experience quiet and reliable operation, even under heavy load.
Superior yield:
Minimize energy consumption and maximize performance at the same time.
Product-friendly treatment:
Preserve the integrity of even the most fragile products, even at high flow rates.
Fristam FP centrifugal pumps for WFI (Water for Injection) applications:
Fristam pumps play a crucial role in the most advanced systems for the production, storage, and distribution of Water for Injection (WFI) and Purified Water (PW) in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
These pumps are manufactured from forged stainless steel with an extremely low ferrite content (≤5%, up to ≤1% for specific applications) and offer superior durability and reliability.
A surface finish of Ra ≤ 0.4 µm on all product-contact parts is guaranteed by means of rigorous multi-zone testing.
In addition, all models are available in ATEX-certified versions, which ensures safe operation in explosive environments.
To comply with strict industry standards, Fristam pumps can be supplied with the following certifications:
+ Material certification (3.1 according to DIN EN 10204)
+ Analysis of the ferrite content
+ Compliance with FDA / EC 1935/2004 / USP Class VI
+ Validation of surface roughness for parts in contact with the product
+ Certificates for electrolytic polishing, passivation, and pickling
+ Full material traceability: including chemical analysis directly on the material batch
+ Fully certified welding on flanges and connections: guarantees both the quality and the traceability of the filler materials used
+ Radiographic inspection of welded joints
+ Sound measurements across the entire performance curve
+ Fan balancing tests
+ Hydrostatic leak tests under pressure
+ Performance tests across the entire operating curve
Options for pharmaceutical pumps
Fristam centrifugal pumps are equipped with 316L stainless steel components as standard.
Special castings are available in stainless steel with a low ferrite content or in high-quality alloys such as Hastelloy® and AL-6XN®.
For pharmaceutical applications, standard USP Class VI elastomers are used; perfluoroelastomers are available as an option.
Materials such as silicon carbide, chromium oxide-coated stainless steel, and carbon are used for the seals.
Most products can be electrolytically polished to an internal surface roughness of 15 Ra.
Thanks to options for housing drain and mounting, the pumps are fully drainable, which is essential for maintaining the cleanliness of the system in the long term. Additionally, the pumps are designed for steam-in-place sterilization, without the need for external cooling systems.
