The combination of a COB with a lens often gives a Saturn ring, an unwanted discoloration at the bottom or outside of the light image. This problem manifests itself especially as the opening angle becomes smaller. Citizen has developed the Falcon COB for this, which has a flat directivity in terms of chromaticity and thus eliminates the problem.
The Falcon series comes in most LES diameters, but is currently available in the smaller diameters, where this technology is best used.
Mass production of LES=4.2mm will follow soon, samples are already available.
