The success story of the 2018 Process Innovation Prize winner

Do you have a new product or technology that you want to bring to the attention of (potential) visitors and the trade press? This is what Van Beek did in 2018. They reported their novelty, the Vertical Screw Heat Exchanger Twister, and won both the jury prize and the public prize. Van Beek developed this innovative product together with Kapp Nederland, a specialist in heat transfer and heat exchangers.

The Twister is a vertical screw heat exchanger and specially designed for processing viscous products in the food and petrochemical industry. Groundbreaking is the reduction of the susceptibility to failure and maintenance requirements compared to the existing scraped heat exchangers. The operational costs are therefore many times lower. It has also been possible to increase the heat transfer surface without significantly increasing the machine's volume. For manufacturers, the Twister is therefore an attractive alternative.

The PIP is judged by a jury of experts as well as by visitors to the trade fair. The products and/or technologies chosen by the jury are invited to exhibit their entry in the PIP gallery in the World of Industrial Processing. Visitors can vote for their favourite on the website. In 2018, more than 400 visitors cast their votes.
