How technology makes security smarter: a look back at the Security at Axis meeting
On May 21, a group of FHI members visited Axis Communications for an inspiring meeting on safety in and around buildings. In an open and interactive setting, we shared insights, experiences, and concrete challenges from the field.
Axis kicked off with an insight into the role of video technology and data in increasing safety and operational efficiency. The focus was on the evolution from camera surveillance to 'intelligent sensing', in which data and analytics play an increasingly important role.
Next, ASSA ABLOY guided the group through physical security and the impact of new legislation, such as the Wwke. It became clear that physical and digital security are increasingly converging and that organizations must work on integrated resilience: from access control to risk management and governance.
Finally, Honeywell demonstrated how fire safety and building management are evolving towards smart, connected systems. Innovations such as self-testing detectors and remote monitoring make it possible to work more efficiently, with less disruption and greater insight into system performance.
The combination of practical examples, current events, and interactive discussion made the afternoon valuable and educational. Thanks to Axis and all the speakers for the warm welcome and inspiring contributions!
