- The RIVM reports 19,838 new positive corona tests on Thursday. That is 1722 more than on Wednesday.
- Almost all employers expect staff shortages to continue or worsen next year, reports employers' organization AWVN based on research among four hundred employers. This causes, among other things, increased work pressure, more overtime and quality that comes under pressure.
- The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has withdrawn SEPA Green Energy's permits for the supply of electricity and gas after the company has gone bankrupt. SEPA got into trouble after the company they bought energy from also went bankrupt. Another supplier is being sought for the 20,000 customers.
- The port of Rotterdam was still by far the largest in the EU last year reports Eurostat. The figures also show that there was significantly less transshipment in the second and third quarters of 2020.
- The thirty Dutch regions have sufficient plans for solar and wind energy in the submitted Regional Energy Strategies (Ressen) to achieve the objectives. That concludes the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency after analyzing the plans. In total, the production of electricity from sun and wind could amount to between 35 and 46 terawatt hours (TWh) around 2030.
