Lobby results autumn 2024
Major Breakthroughs for Entrepreneurs
FHI looks back on a successful lobbying year in which crucial steps were taken for a better business climate. The most important results and initiatives of the autumn of 2024 show how the interests of entrepreneurs are strongly represented. An overview:
Reduction of regulatory burden
One of the major successes is the commitment to increase the lower limit for government tenders to 50,000 euros. This significantly reduces the administrative burden for entrepreneurs. In addition, the government is investigating further ways to limit regulatory pressure in tenders.
Financing for SMEs
The National Covenant for SME Financing has led to the launch of the Financing Guide by the Chamber of Commerce. This platform offers entrepreneurs insight into suitable financing options and makes it easier to gain access to credits and subsidies.
Day of the Entrepreneur
On November 15, the Netherlands celebrated Entrepreneur's Day. This day, initiated by MKB-Nederland, puts entrepreneurs in the spotlight for their dedication, courage and perseverance. FHI member Betronics was visited.

PFAS Regulation and Support
The European plans to phase out PFAS chemicals have a major impact on companies. FHI supports entrepreneurs with practical tools and sector plans, so that they are prepared for the new regulations that will come into effect in 2026. An awareness campaign and collaboration with knowledge institutions help to meet the stricter requirements.
CSRD and sustainable entrepreneurship
The new European CSRD directive affects SMEs indirectly through their role in the value chain of larger companies. FHI facilitates knowledge exchange and support, so that members are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of sustainable reporting.
Together Digitally Safe
With the program “Samen Digitaal Veilig” (Together Digitally Safe), FHI helps companies to strengthen the digital security of employees and processes. From online training to a security dashboard – the tools are there to make entrepreneurs more digitally resilient.
Looking ahead
With initiatives such as the more productive agenda and sectoral programs, FHI, with its seat on the main board of MKB-Nederland, continues to work towards a future-proof business climate. In June 2025, a highlight will follow: the business festival “Dit is Ondernemen” in Zwolle.
