The HP5834 is a MEMS-based pressure and temperature sensor with an I²C interface. It provides digital pressure and temperature data using a high-resolution 24-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC).

Altitude is calculated from pressure and temperature measurements using a proprietary patented algorithm. Integrated data compensation reduces the processing requirements of the external host microcontroller (MCU).

The sensor supports command-based data acquisition and programmable interrupt control. Its typical active supply current is 5.3 µA per measurement-second when the ADC output is filtered and decimated by 256. Pressure measurements can be resolved in fractions of a Pascal.
