Buying a fire safety cabinet is easy, but the right one often proves to be a lot more difficult. For example, do you know whether acids and alkalis should be stored in a fire safety cabinet?
- Most acids and alkalis are not flammable. This means they do not need to be stored in a fire safety cabinet. An ACID storage cabinet is a better and much cheaper choice.
- If you want to store different substances in the Classic fire safety cabinet, hazardous substances, but also acids and alkalis, then you need to compartmentalise. This can be done with PP inserts. These have a different structure and a higher melting point than PE inserts.
- A fire safety cabinet has a standard ventilation rate of 10 times the volume of the cabinet. When storing acids and alkalis in a Classic fire safety cabinet, we recommend a higher ventilation rate, namely 120 times the volume of the cabinet.
