New at WoTS: Student Innovation Pavilion
At the World of Industry, Technology & Science (WoTS) trade fair in Utrecht, September 24th the brand new Student Innovation Pavilion unveiled. The initiative arose from the need to put young talents and their innovative projects in the spotlight.
The Student Innovation Pavilion is present at the WoTS for the first time this edition and was set up in collaboration with various technical universities in the Netherlands. Sector manager Roelof Kuipers is responsible for the organisation on behalf of FHI. “The pavilion gives young people the opportunity to show their knowledge and creativity to a broad audience. A second goal is to connect young talent to potential investors or employers who can help them realise their ideas.”
Groundbreaking
Four student teams from TU Delft and TU Eindhoven will present their groundbreaking innovations in a professional environment, ranging from electric airplanes to hydrogen cars. There will also be an opportunity to attend the student seminar program on Wednesday September 25 between 10:00 and 12:00, where the teams will present their projects to the visitors of the WoTS.
Building a bridge
“It is important that we bridge the gap between education and industry and the Student Innovation Pavilion is a perfect way to do that,” Kuipers continues. “Students not only get the chance to learn from experienced colleagues, but also to present themselves as the innovators of tomorrow.”
Breeding ground
The WoTS, from 24 to 27 September in Jaarbeurs Utrecht, attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year and is known as the largest trade fair for professionals in the technology and science sector. Kuipers: “With the addition of the Student Innovation Pavilion, the fair is once again profiling itself as a breeding ground for innovation and innovative thinking. We hope that the pavilion will have a lasting impact on the fair and we warmly welcome all WoTS visitors in hall 8 in the Jaarbeurs!”
