From September 23rd to 25th, 2025, at Jaarbeurs Utrecht, the Electronics & Applications (E&A) trade fair will be the heart of industrial electronics. Knowledge transfer is one of the key pillars of the Benelux's premier industrial electronics trade fair.

E&A has built a reputation with its four exhibition projects. The exhibition gadget is, of course, the crowning glory. We're also organizing the Demoplein, the Benelux's best soldering booth, and the Development Pavilion. As everyone now knows, the exhibition gadget is the Circuit Cruiser: the coveted printed circuit board on wheels that E&A visitors can collect and test in person.

Seminar program

In addition to the exhibition projects, E&A offers a strong, substantive seminar program. Six seminars, spread over three days, cover topics ranging from Electronics Design to Controls & Enclosures.

Electronics design – Tuesday, September 23 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

How do you accelerate the development of a new electronic product without compromising quality? We'll start with a practical look at the electronics development process: why is the required functionality often quickly apparent, while it still takes months to produce a final product?

Get inspired by real-world case studies, concrete advice, and tips that you can apply directly in your own design process.

Quantum technology – Tuesday, September 23 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM

Quantum technology is receiving a lot of attention. You often read complicated and contradictory stories. But what does it actually mean in plain language, and more importantly: what can you do with it? What's already happening in the Netherlands? (Sneak Preview: a lot!)

This seminar provides a brief introduction to quantum and the Dutch ecosystem. We then delve deeper into three themes: quantum sensors, post-quantum cryptography, and the Quantum Manufacturing Alliance.

Artificial Intelligence – Wednesday, September 24 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

AI is transforming embedded systems by making them smarter and more autonomous. Here, in three 25-minute lectures, you'll gain insight into what's already possible and what the future holds. An inspiring session for anyone who wants to leverage AI in embedded technology—both today and tomorrow.

Electronics manufacturing – Wednesday, September 24 from 12:30 to 2:40 PM

How do we ensure that Europe maintains control over the electronics production of the future? During the Electronics Production Seminar, we'll focus on the strengths and vulnerabilities of the European production chain.

We start with an overview of the European electronics industry: where do we stand, what initiatives such as the Chip Act have been launched, and what is needed to maintain and expand production in Europe?

This will be followed by a look at the global EMS market: where is production shifting and what does that mean for Europe? Finally, you'll hear a practical example of bringing production in-house: why this decision was made, how it was approached, and what the results have been.

Embedded software – Thursday, September 25 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Discover the future of embedded software! In a dynamic session, three experts will guide you through the world of secure and smart embedded systems. An ethical hacker will reveal vulnerabilities in embedded devices live and demonstrate how attackers operate. We'll then delve into the new RED directive and show you how smart software solutions can meet requirements such as attack detection and firmware updates.

Finally, we explore the role of AI in embedded software development: how powerful is it, where are the opportunities, and – equally important – how secure is AI-generated code?

Controls & Housings – Thursday, September 25 from 12:30 to 2:00 PM

Whether you choose standard components or custom solutions, a good housing and a well-designed user interface are essential for a reliable and user-friendly end product. During this seminar, you'll discover how standard solutions can offer significant flexibility, when custom solutions meet specific requirements, and how to develop an interface that seamlessly integrates with real-world applications.

With examples from daily design and development practice, you'll gain insight into the entire process: from selection to integration. An inspiring session for anyone working on functional, safe, and easy-to-use electronics.
