Seminar E&A fair 2025
Housings and controls: custom or standard?
An attractive design and a well-thought-out user interface are essential for a reliable and user-friendly end product. During the E&A seminar 'Smart choices in housings and controls' you discover the advantages of standard solutions, while customization offers a solution for specific requirements. The ultimate goal is the development of a interface that fits seamlessly into practice.
Visitors will gain insight into the entire development process: from selection to integration. An inspiring session for anyone working on functional, safe, and easy-to-use electronics.
Joost Koekenberg of FIBOX will open the meeting on behalf of Comdes Components. He will delve deeper into the key selection criteria for enclosures. Incorrect choices are often made early on – with all the consequences that entails. However, customization isn't always the best or only solution. Standard enclosures, whether customized or not, offer a cost-effective alternative without compromising functionality, quality, or appearance.
When a product scales up or needs to comply with EU safety regulations, something other than standard enclosures is sometimes required. A custom enclosure is then the best option, according to Laurence Venne of DUNC. In his presentation, he will show inspiring examples of custom enclosure and control solutions. He will also discuss the technical and commercial advantages of customization.
We end the seminar with a technical lecture on the development of user interfaces For electronic products that stand out through good design and functionality. Jos Oberdorf (NPK) explains what a good housing should have: from the buttons to the keyboard. Both custom and off-the-shelf housings are discussed and all matters that come with them.
