The maximum subsidy for study projects of the Top Sector Energy (TSE) scheme Industry studies has been increased from €500,000 to €2 million per project. This was announced by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy announced.

To achieve the CO2 reduction targets, the government expects larger investment projects. In preparation for this, larger studies are needed. The new budget for TSE Industry studies has almost doubled to €20 million.

The TSE scheme Industry studies is for companies that want to invest in a CO2-reducing technique in industry and want to know if this is technically and economically feasible. They can get a subsidy to investigate this.

The scheme has been in place for a number of years. Many companies have already made use of it. For example, they investigated the feasibility of pilot or demonstration projects for the recycling of specific types of plastics or metals. Or the feasibility of applying a fully developed technology for hydrogen production, the payback period of which is longer than 5 years.
