On Thursday, June 16, FHI organized an interactive meeting for all members of the Industrial Electronics sector about the current disruptions in our supply chain. In a well-filled room, the group entered into a discussion with each other.

Every electronics company is currently dealing with it; component shortages coupled with long delivery times, material shortages, logistical challenges and the current geopolitical tensions. All this is creating a tense market, with the prices of components, materials, energy/gas and transport skyrocketing.

In the meantime, European initiatives have been launched (e.g. Chips Act) to prevent the same problems from recurring in the long term. From our clusters Development Club, Components, EMS and Test & Meet, presentations were on the program this afternoon that provided insight into the current problems and offered tools to get through this time as well as possible. Think of topics such as redesigns, obsolescence management, communication and supply chain management.
