VSL opens first mobile calibration facility for hydrogen
VSL, also known as the National Metrological Institute, is the first party in the Netherlands to put a mobile calibration facility for hydrogen into use. The facility can be used, among other things, to calibrate hydrogen pumps at filling stations.
With the calibration facility says VSL to contribute to the usability of hydrogen as a replacement for fossil fuels. In addition, commercial fuel suppliers are legally required to have their pumps certified. This way, customers can be sure that they will actually receive the exact amount of fuel, or hydrogen, for which they paid. Thanks to VSL's mobile calibration facility, filling stations can now obtain the mandatory certification for the commercial supply of hydrogen.
Hydrogen is charged per kilo. Just like a car, the calibration facility refuels with hydrogen and by weighing it exactly, it can be determined how much fuel has been taken. This can then be compared with the meter on the hydrogen pump.
FHI organizes the Hydrogen online knowledge days on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 June. watch here more information and register.
