One brain = one Miniserver
The architecture of the Loxone system is often compared to that of a human, the most perfect system yet created – one brain controls all other elements. The Mini server acts as this brain – it collects and analyzes information from sensors and adapts the operation of the different components based on weather conditions, indoor climate, individual needs or unusual situations.
A system consisting of many different subsystems will never work so efficiently and comprehensively. Achieving synergy at such a high level, even with high-end equipment, is impossible. For example: if the sun blinds are not automatically lowered, the windows are closed and the air conditioning is switched on at high temperatures and strong sunlight, we will not achieve a desired indoor climate. If we have an air conditioner that turns on automatically at a certain temperature, but the windows remain open and the sun shines in unhindered, we only achieve a high energy consumption and high energy bills. It is undoubtedly easier to monitor one device than multiple, separate units. After all, fewer elements means less chance of malfunctions.

Components and systems are still technology that is susceptible to failure. However, there is a difference between immediate failures that require expensive repairs or replacements and minor problems that arise after years of enjoying a reliable system.

In the event of a power outage, the Loxone ecosystem comes back to life within seconds, while other systems wait for the router to restart. Just as important is the aspect of data security – in an era of frequent data breaches and desperate attempts by governments to secure them, Loxone has found the simplest and at the same time best solution. That means no cloud your data remains on your Miniserver and nowhere else. Loxone offers security in every sense of the word!
In larger installations, where multiple Miniservers are used, there is also no reason to worry about disruptions. They can be configured as Client/Gateway, so that only the Miniserver goes down with errors and the rest works as usual.
Guarantee of reliability
The entire industry is based on PLC controllers. We thank them for optimizing countless operations that make our... make the world more efficient in terms of production, delivery, safety and many other aspects. PLC controllers are responsible for controlling very complex systems – heat plants, heat exchangers, and so on. The Miniserver is based on the same standard, but has been adapted for the control of home and building automation.
