The biggest advantage is the speed and precision of measuring, which also increases the quality/quantity of crops. But measuring with NI(R has more advantages, such as... saving a lot of time and money
Inventech Benelux BV – April 30, 2020
In the breeding process to develop new varieties, large numbers of plants are assessed in order to select the best plants. This is still often done by people. Quick, objective measurement of plant and seed properties (phenotyping) with NIR (Near Infrared) saves a lot of time and money. With the small and portable one MicroNIR™ Spectrometer from Viavi you are quickly able to measure and analyze a reliable and reproducible spectrum, both (semi) quantitative and qualitative.
This spectrometer is used, for example, to better influence the pungency of peppers, to make cucumbers stronger - so that plastic packaging in the supermarket becomes unnecessary - and for disease resistance. But many other applications are possible. Would you like more information or are you interested in a test?
