Battery Emulator Testing

NH Research, Inc.'s (NHR) battery test equipment, featuring battery emulation technology, includes, the Battery Pack Test Systems (9200, 9210), Low Voltage/High Current Battery Test System (9220), and the High Voltage Battery Test System (9300) series. NHR's regenerative, bidirectional DC sources are used as regenerative DC loads, high power DC sources, battery test or battery emulation. These battery test systems are used to emulate a battery rather than using a real battery which dramatically reduces testing time, provides highly repeatable test results, and creates a safer test environment. Also, preparation time, operator errors, and result variations due to battery temperature or aging, are eliminated.

NHR's modular, high voltage battery test equipment has become a popular choice for EV Battery Pack testing, EV Powertrain testing, and DC Fast Charger testing where superior performance, safety, easy automation, and regenerative energy savings are important. Additional applications included Solar PV, renewable energy storage, aerospace and critical power industries.

These battery test systems are perfect for battery emulator testing or battery simulator testing as it provides an electronically programmable “Battery Emulation” mode, allowing any battery to be simulated at any state of charge. This unique battery emulation and battery simulation technology sets NHR's battery test systems apart from the competition. Battery emulation eliminates costs associated with operating and maintaining real batteries and simplifies the battery test process. It can also help accelerate time to market by making battery pack test efficient, reliable and safe. These factors are especially important for applications that require higher voltages and higher power.

NHR's battery pack testers are designed for testing applications such as battery cycling, battery packs, chargers, EV, flow batteries, fuel cells, micro-grid testing, super capacitors, vehicle to grid (V2G), solar pv testing, and much more!
