Will Wilfred van der Plas present the building of the future during the Bits, Bricks & Behavior conference? Every building in the future will be an empathetic building, a building that can sense and empathize. Sensing and empathizing what the user needs and facilitates. But is this really the future, or are there already emphatic buildings? A consortium is already developing an empathetic building.

But what makes an emphatic building so interesting? IoT applications with independent functional behavior will increasingly enter the building domain in the coming years. In the future, almost everything will generate data and you can independently influence the functional behavior of these IoT applications. The consortium is taking a first step by making the floor of a building 'talk'. The technological concept is developed from 'customer demand' formulated on the basis of research conducted by Anne Grave MSc. As part of the technological concept, Simaxx linked, among other things, the data from Energy Floors and Connective Floors. The Energy floors solution has independent functional behavior because it can provide direct information to the user. By linking the data and using the analysis of this data, we investigate how to influence the behavior of the various components.

A good example is a living environment that adapts to and anticipates a user with dementia. An environment that understands the resident and provides care. An interactive home that supports the resident with dementia in carrying out daily activities so that the day and night rhythm is better maintained. Or the resident who is 'guided' through the home so that he or she can continue to live independently at home for longer. By integrating various technological innovations into a living environment that thinks along with the resident with dementia. This not only stimulates and supports the resident's functioning, but also helps the (informal) caregiver. The interactive environment contributes to elderly people with dementia living independently for longer.

During the day the Bits, Bricks & Behavior conference Wilfred van der Plas from Simaxx will give a presentation about emphatic buildings and the various application options. Became curious?
