CELLdisc™ is a multi-layer cell culture vessel with a growth surface of 250 cm2 to 10,000 cm2. The innovative ergonomic design gives 40% greater surface area to volume ratio than conventional multi-layer systems.
CELLdisc™ is available in 1-, 4-, 8-, 12-, 16-, 24-, and 40-layer versions. The 1-layer only in TC, the multi-layered versions TC and Advanced TC therapy.
The centrally located ventilation channel ensures uniform distribution of gas throughout the device while the wide opening simplifies manual filling.
The compact and robust cylindrical device is ideal for automation and scale-up of mass cell culture.
A patented, particle-free assembly technique was used to connect the individual layers and the complete end product is USP Class VI certified. In addition, CELLdisc™ is guaranteed sterile (SAL 10-6), non-pyrogenic, non-cytotoxic and free of detectable DNase, RNase and human DNA.
With closed systems there is no need to open a cell culture vessel during cell culture and thus contaminations are avoided. Closed systems are required in many applications and especially important in GMP facilities. For improved sterility, Greiner Bio-One has developed the new CELLdisc™ developed with closed filler caps. These filler caps consist of flexible USP Class VI certified silicone tubing attached to the screw cap. The silicone tubing can be securely connected to fluid reservoirs such as media bags using the associated MPOC connector.
